Niels has a reassuring presence which people gravitate to in quiet moments, but he actually harbours a lot of nervous energy. He cares deeply for a select few in his life, and goes to great lengths to help them if he's able to – sometimes despite it being an inconvenience, or to his own disadvantage. He generally trusts others (so long as they aren't too slick on first meeting) and gives the benefit of doubt in situations where it's difficult to do so, mainly because Niels believes a life spent doubting others would be exhausting (all while frequently doubting himself). He carries himself like he's made too big for the world around him – be it having a slight hunch in his posture to match his (oft-shorter) conversation partners, or folding his legs under too-narrow chairs. August is charismatic, quick to befriend complete strangers while keeping almost everyone at arm's length for some reason. Many are drawn to August's confidence: no task seems too daunting for them, and their hyper-practical mindset allows them to make objective, reliable judgment calls... but they frankly overthink often. August actively tries not to dwell in the past, instead living life a little irreverently, knowing they'd otherwise go nuts attempting to control it all. Recently, August seems to have lost a bit of the lightness in their gait. Previously easy-going, their smiles are sharper around the edges these days. Mal is intimidating upon first glance despite her short stature: it doesn't help she doesn't mince her words, never afraid to call a spade a spade. She plays by her own rules and personal moral compass, meaning that if she disagrees with situations or decisions made, Mal is not one to go along with the rest of the herd. Still, Mal isn't combative right off the bat – she prefers taking a backseat and observing first, where possible. Focused and trustworthy, she’s highly dedicated to accomplishing tasks she’s entrusted with, so long as she agrees with the end goal.Demeanour
There's tension whenever Mal enters a room – think of a fluorescent lightbulb after you've flicked the switch, but has yet to sputter to life. Mal moves with precision and a certain certainty about her. She can be found perching on precarious ledges, or balancing on the narrowest of handrails with the confidence of a bat hanging off a tree.While her movements are assured, you can tell that she's always ready to pounce. Vi is the guy everyone seems to look up to: the one who has his shit together, yet manages to keep his image personable and approachable. He's well-liked by acquaintances, though love-hated by friends – Vi is way too diplomatic to speak the truth, which means that he's terrible backup in an argument, and he actively goes with the flow as much as possible until it's untenable. You can’t count on him too much, but he’s excellent company and a mood-lifter at parties.Demeanour
Vi simply cannot stand straight. It's not to say that he's fidgety – his energy is controlled, but he tends to channel it... sideways. Or any of the cardinal directions, really. Vi can be found stretching, cracking his back or showing off his flexibility at any given moment. He seems to do this subconsciously.Predictably, Vi speaks with his hands and shoulders a lot. He will opt for a winding route rather than a direct line to his destination -- something about the joy of discovery... but we think it's just the roundabout way he goes about life.Appearance
When given the choice, Vi goes for comfort. Relaxed styles, flowing pieces and loose-fitting clothes grant him a wide range of motion. His palettes tend to be neutral and earthy.
